MOTW #7

This is part of the CD cover for "My Buzz Comes Back" from Philly hip-hoppers Slo-Mo and Mic Wrecka. They have a really cool mental map of the Northern Liberties neighborhood in Philadelphia. Oh and the music's darn good too.

MOTW #6

For Armistice Day - a map of the Western Front during WWI.

MOTW #5

From Drainspotting, a map of Seattle - on a manhole* cover!

* In Seattle they are called the gender neutral "Maintenance Holes". How do I know this? I used to work for Seattle Public Utilities.

MOTW #4

A map showing territorial claims in Antarctica. I don't know the original source.

MOTW #3

This is a fun video entitled "Who Should we Invade Next?"

MOTW #2

I'm pretty sure this came from Lori Napoleon's wonderful collection of "mental maps".

MOTW #1

Map of the Week #1

Program Note: Map of the week has been an e-mail list since some time in 2005. This was probably not the first one but it is the first map after I decided to keep track of them.
Note 2: Most of these first 50 or so maps did not have comments and some of them are unattributed. I will try to give credit where due fr these. Hopefully nobody gets bent out of shape about that.

This is a map of Avian Flu courtesy of the UN World Food Program.
